My Boy is a Game Boy Advance emulator that runs GBA ROMs on a broad range of Android devices. It should support low-end phones fairly well, and it tends to run all games at a high frame rate. Even those who have relatively anemic hardware might find that My Boy runs faster than original hardware in many cases.

Some games, especially those that involve battling monsters to level up, encourage players to trade. Emulators normally don't provide a way to use a virtual link cable, however. My Boy emulates a connected link cable so players with multiple mobile devices can sync up their games and trade monsters between them.

While no emulator is going to be compatible with every ROM, My Boy supports a large number of commercial games. It should be able to run royalty free homebrew titles without any challenge as well. Those who have legally acquired open-source ROMs shouldn't experience any difficulty getting these to start up on the My Boy platform.

Unlike a real GBA, My Boy offers a save state function that lets you save a game at any point regardless of whether the ROM even offers a save feature. That gives you the freedom to not only save your progress but also create as many states as you want in order to get around particularly difficult areas in games.

RPGs and other titles that featured proper in-game save systems should work just fine with My Boy as well, which is vital for those that required a save file in order to load certain types of content. Best of all, My Boy works with an unlimited number of ROMs stored on your phone simultaneously.
